NAFCU Services’ Free Calculators Win Best Practices Award
CULookup.com Financial Calculators Recognized by Credit Union Journal
WASHINGTON — NAFCU Services Corporation garnered a 2010 Best Practices Award for its CULookup.com Financial Calculators. The awards are given annually by Credit Union Journal in recognition of real-world best practices in the credit union industry, ranging from service delivery to staff morale programs and technology.
“We designed the calculators to assist existing and prospective members in managing their finances while learning more about credit unions in the process,” said David Frankil, president of NAFCU Services Corp. “We are thrilled to be recognized among some of the most innovative industry leaders in this year’s Credit Union Journal Best Practices Awards.”
The award-winning online financial calculators are available on the NAFCU Services credit union locator site, CULookup.com. The calculators can also be used on credit union websites to help them grow market share and reach the “unaware non-member.”
“The ‘unaware non-member’ audience represents consumers that are not actively looking for a credit union to join because they are unaware of the benefits membership offers. This segment presents a significant opportunity for growth, but is the most difficult to reach,” explains Frankil.
The financial calculators attract consumers to CULookup.com, where they can search for a credit union to join. Used by credit unions big and small, the calculators are also easily adopted onto credit union websites. The calculators’ lead generation capabilities present another opportunity to attract unaware non-members and expose them to other benefits and solutions of a given credit union. In addition, the calculators reinforce the value of the credit union’s solutions to existing members.
The calculators are free to NAFCU member credit unions. Over 160 have the customized code that enables deployment on their websites, resulting in the completion of over 700,000 calculations since they were launched in February, 2010.
